The Rose Center for Public Leadership in Land Use has selected ten public officials to receive scholarships to attend the ULI Fall Meeting in San Francisco, October 5-8. The winners, all management-level, public-sector ULI members representing a cross-section of professional disciplines from eight U.S. states and two foreign countries, are either active with ULI in their community or in its global programming.

In response to feedback from past scholarship recipients and with the support of the ULI Foundation, the Rose Center Fall Meeting scholarship was significantly modified in 2015 to cover a greater share of expenses and provide a richer ULI experience, including guest invitations to ULI’s Product Councils. The selection committee tried to balance applicants’ home geography, areas of expertise, management roles in their public agencies, involvement with ULI, professional interests, and other factors to provide a diverse mix of winners.

This year’s winners are:

  • Eric Aderneck, Senior Regional Planner, MetroVancouver, British Columbia, Canada, ULI British Columbia;
  • Keith Brown, Head Development Officer, Jacksonville Transportation Authority, Florida, ULI North Florida;
  • Rosalyn Doggett, Senior Real Estate Advisor, Real Estate and Station Planning, Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, District of Columbia, ULI Washington;
  • Craig Hirai, Executive Director, Hawaii Housing Finance & Development Corporation, Hawaii, ULI Hawaii;
  • Paula Hirst, Director of Strategy, Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation, London, England, United Kingdom, ULI United Kingdom;
  • Ricardo Noguera, Director, Community and Economic Development, City of Tacoma, Washington, ULI Northwest;
  • Bruce Nordquist, Director, Community Development, City of Apple Valley, Minnesota, ULI Minnesota;
  • Rebecca Reyna, Executive Director, Greater Northside Management District, Houston, Texas, ULI Houston;
